Charles Bullock was an intern at Cranston, Grayson and Wayne who adopted the guise of Blackwing to continue the legacy of Batman, and worked alongside the Huntress.

Charles Bullock graduated from Brooklyn Law and was hired by Arthur Cranston to work at his law firm. After an attack on his colleague, Helena Wayne, by the vigilante Karnage he decided to become the Vigilante Blackwing. In his first outing[1] his glider cape was torn by thugs and he was unmasked, revealing his identity to the Huntress. Using him as collateral, the thugs bring him to their boss, the Boa, but before harm can come to him, Huntress appears to save him.[2] Charlie, who had been feigning unconsciousness, using one of Huntress' throwing knives to kill the snake, saving her. He reveals he has been recording everything said by the criminals, which earns him praise from the Huntress.[3]


Abilities


  • This version of Blackwing, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022–2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
  • He is the first black superhero to don the Bat symbol.
