Charles "Chas" Chandler was one of John Constantine's oldest friends.

Chas was a roadie for Constantine's band Mucous Membrane and, according to Constantine, survived so long being friends with him because Chas usually stayed out of Constantine's magic adventures.

When an insane future version of Tim Hunter unleashed a horde of magical monsters on Earth, Constantine told Chas to get him a goat head for a ritual. Chas could only find a pig's head, which Constantine supposedly scrawled symbols on to turn it into a magical bomb. Chas then valiantly volunteered to drive the head to a certain spot where Constantine could detonate the head. However, the "bomb" turned out to be a lie, as Constantine was banking on Chas's belief that he was carrying a magical weapon distracting the monsters so the superheroes could win. Chas died confused when his cab exploded.[1]
