Charles Mokose is Impala, an African metahuman speedster whose powers are granted through a mystical totem mask similar in nature to the Tantu Totem. He is a member of the United Nation Metahuman Force, the Global Guardians.
History
Powers and Abilities
Powers
- Impala Totem Mask: Through the use of a mystical totem, Impala is granted various powers. As a side effect, his skins darkens and gains tattoos on his face and forehead while in use of it. He seemingly manifests his totem by tapping his forehead.[1]
- Superhuman Speed: Impala is capable of moving at superhuman speeds, although he has admitted he is not nearly as fast as the Flash.[1]
- Aerokinesis: By rotating his arms at superhuman speeds, he is capable of generating strong wind vortexes.[2]
- Superhuman Stamina: Impala is capable of moving at superhuman speeds for a undefined extended period of time without being visibly tired.[1]
- Healing: Whenever he puts on the totem mask, a healing wave heals Charles of all previous injuries prior. Charles exploits this ability to heal himself by removing the totem and putting it back on after sustaining damage.[1]

- Impala was created by E. Nelson Bridwell and Ramona Fradon, first appearing in Super Friends #7. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Impala first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Truth & Justice #1 by Geoffrey Thorne and ChrisCross.
Trivia
- Vixen jokingly refers to him as Idris, likely referencing his English accent and mannerisms when speaking, and seems to harbor some romantic interest in him.[2]
