- The name's Charon. I ferry the dead around the River Styx. If it ain't dead and it ain't on the Styx, I dunno it.
- — Charon src
Charon is the ferryman from Greek mythology who transports the souls of the dead across Styx, the river that separates the land of the living from the underworld.
History
Charon charges every passenger with the golden coin, or strands them in limbo as ghosts. This is why the Ancient Greeks always buried their dead with coins, to pay Charon for the fare.
