Chris Freeman was a coroner who died and was resurrected only to find he could retrieve the spirits of dead people from the afterlife. He used this power to conduct unofficial detective work.

- Christopher Freeman was created by Otto Binder and Sheldon Moldoff, first appearing in Hit Comics #25. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Christopher Freeman first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in National Comics: Eternity #1 by Jeff Lemire and Cully Hamner.
