Insomnia (real name Christopher Lukas) was a powerful being who uses his powers to engulf every single hero and villain in their own dark and twisted nightmares.
History
Early Life
During the events of Dark Nights: Metal, Christopher Lukas came home to his family and was confident that the Justice League would protect them from the Dark Knights. However, their home was destroyed and Lukas was driven insane from the trauma of losing family in front of his eyes, blaming the Justice League for drawing the danger to Earth.[2]
Knight Terrors
During the Lazarus Eruption, Christopher Lukas gained some nightmare-related powers and became the serial killer known as "Insomnia". Since then, his main goal became the recovery of the Nightmare Stone, which has the ability to disable all good dreams and the powers of the Dreamstone. Insomnia then used his abilities to enter the mind of Doctor Destiny, the creator of the Nightmare Stone, to possesses his body. He later takes several heroes and villains of Earth into their worst nightmares, unleashing scary versions of their family and friends.

Powers and Abilities
Powers
- Unique Physiology: After coming into contact with Lazarus Resin in his sleep, Insomnia gained the power to invade the minds of others while they are asleep.[3] He commonly uses this ability to walk through the nightmares of heroes to terrorize them. Insomnia's power also appears to be connected directly to the Nightmare Realm.[3]
- Nightmare Telepathy: Insomnia is capable of viewing and entering the nightmares of whoever he chooses. He first did this to the inmates of Arkham Asylum and eventually began spying on the nightmares of the Justice League.[3]

Insomnia was powerful enough to cause a "Nightmare Wave" across the entire world, causing almost everyone on Earth to fall into an eternal slumber, trapped within their darkest fears. Even heroes as powerful as Superman were unable to resist Insomia's wave. [5]
- Fear Projection: Insmonia can bring people's worst fears into reality, as well as his own.[3]
- Nightmare Reality Warping: Inside the Nightmare Realm, Insomnia can effortlessly alter reality on a universal scale. He commonly uses this ability to torture others in inexplicable ways.[6]
