Christopher McDonald (b. February 15, 1955) is an American actor who voiced Jor-El for the animated series Superman, Superman for the animated series Batman Beyond, and Harvey Dent for the animated series Beware the Batman.
McDonld's turn voicing Superman for the DC Animated Universe coincided with Tim Daly's tenure in the role. An actual explanation as to why Warner Brothers Animation did not use Daly to voice the role has not surfaced. Though it may have been a contractual issue or that it was felt a different voice was needed for the older version of the character.
This Christopher McDonald is not to be confused with Christopher MacDonald who will portray Ron Troupe in the DCU starting with the upcoming movie Superman and has also been called "Christopher McDonald".
