Chroma was an entity who tests out their apocalypse songs on many worlds.
History
Chroma has met Jade and Obsidian in the past, having promised not to return for a million years. They really planned not to return, but the universe was remade; new vibrational frequencies, new aural structures, which will die in their own ways, all peter out in unique echoes. They wanted to know how everything dies on this planet with so many textures, and so they would sing it into oblivion.
Obsidian came up with an idea that didn't need them to conflict: he introduced them to the Shadowlands, a place completely unknown to Chroma, who considered it "grand and glorious", and that they had to sing of it, and then they should return to Earth and sing its end into existence. Obsidian asked them how long it would take them to sing of that place, but since their songs are not made to be measured in our linear hours, it should take between twenty earth minutes and fifteen million years.[1]
