The Church of Blood is a cult that worshipped a powerful demon before being hijacked by the Green Lantern Core, a splinter group from the Green Lantern Patrolmen.
History
In older times, the Church of Blood worshipped a red-skinned demon who would go on to to sire Raven.[1] However, it would become the cover of operation for the Green Lantern Core, who sought to drain humans of their energies to charge their rings. Their leader Sinestra, took on the guise of Sister Blood.[2] The real Sister Blood and Father Frenzy were killed when the Core tested their energy-draining technology on Zandia.[1]
The Church attracted people who felt lost in life under the promise of charity and unity, including Georgia "Gigi" Gardner.[2] The Church was infiltrated by Raven and Wonder Boy,[1] the latter of whom found out that unfortunate cultists were strapped to the Core's machine to be harvested.[3]
The Church held a rally at a public park where wristbands were handed out to attendees. However, these wristbands were meant to drain countless innocents of their energies to fuel the Core's rings.[4]
