The Circle of Eternity was a powerful gathering of magic users whose responsibilites were to pass sentences agaist those whom were deemed guilty of upsetting the cosmic order of the world.[4]

History

Earlier History

Mamaragan, a deity of Aboriginal origin, would eventually travel to the Rock of Eternity, where he would be offered a seat in the Circle and would adopt the name "Wizard".[5]

The Trinity of Sin

The council were intergetal in the fates of the Trinity of Sin, having been brought before them. Considered to be the greatest trangressors in mankind, each of them were punished severly for their crimes: Judas Iscariot's punishment, his crime having been betraying Jesus Christ, the son of God, for 30 silver coins, was to walk the Earth and serve the greater good until God himself considered the debt for his sins paid. The Wizard of the Council would bind silve coins onto him in a form of a necklace and the God himself would support this sentence. It was from this point forward that Judas would eventually become known as the Phantom Stranger.[4]

Pandora's punishment, for unwittingly unleashing the Seven Deadly Sins onto the world, was cursed with immortality in order to see the ruin she brought upon the world. The Wizard also branded scars onto her face in which would burn without any relief. In an attempt to atone for her crimes, Pandroa trained and worked to eventually repel the sins she had unleashed.[6]

Other Adventures

Eventually, the Wizard would come upon Aman and Teth-Adam, choosing the former as his Champion although the both of them were chosen when Aman proposed he will accept it on the condition they save Teth from a mortal wound. Becoming his champions, both of them were tasked with freeing Kahndaq from their captors and due to disagreeing with Aman's methods, he would kill them when the both of them called upon the power of the Living Lightning. Aman's death would remain unknown to the Circle for a time as Adam, then known as Mighty Adam, acted as a Champion for the Circle, namely the Wizard.[7][8]

During Adam's time as the Champion, the Mighty Adam was considered a heroic legend known for defeating foes such as the Seven Deadly Sins and freed the Kahndaqi tribe from their oppressors such as Ibac The First. He also defend the Earth and Kahndaq against an invasion force led by an Oan known as the Pale Bishop. Mighty Adam also came into conflict with the group known as the Circle of Crows.[8][9]

Throughout their tenure, the Circle of Eternity addressed various threats: protecting the Seven Magiclands, the Circle and their champions came into conflict with members of the Monster Society of Evil, led by the Mister Mind, the Circle having previously encountered him consuming countless spellbooks in order to enhanced his magical powers and knowledge from the Library of Eternity. Mister Mind's Monster Society nearly destroyed all the Magiclands in their invasion as Mind's planning nearly dismantled the Circle from the inside, requiring all of the Champions (Solomon, Hercules, Achilles, Zeus, Atlas, and Mercury) to stop him. In the proccess, Solomon was killed by Mister Mind. In it's aftermath, the Monster Society was sealed away, access to the Magiclands from the Rock of Eternity was barred, and Mister Mind would be recorded in the Encyclopedia of Magical Monsters, regared by the Circle as being among the most dangerous beings they've ever encountered.[10][11]

The Circle's Demise

Around 24th Century BCE, Mighty Adam would betray the Circle and killed most of it's members save the Wizard, who banishes him.[12][8]

Trivia

  • Mister Mind claimed that the Circle of Eternity hid the Rock of Eternity in wake of Black Adam's betrayal with intentions to hide it's power from the world while as well as took powers from beings of the God Realm, including Solomon, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, Mercury, and a unpronouncable seventh.[13] However, this is likely a lie, as the Circle of Eternity were killed from Black Adam's betrayal, leaving Mamaragan as it's only survivor. Furthermore, Mind's story implies this happened after his failed invasion from his Monster Society & Black Adam's betrayal, which conflicts with historical accounts of the aformentioned champions having directly stopped him and he himself killing Solomon during the invasion and no council existing to making such a decision.
