Claw was a criminal and an enemy of the Flash.
History
The Claw kidnapped important figures in vital industries by hijacking the train they were traveling on and rerouting it to a ghost town that served as his headquarters. Once there, they were replaced by carefully-trained doubles to give him power behind the scenes of major industries and government offices. He also made sure to hijack the train carrying Joan Williams so the Flash would come looking for her, and the Claw could lure the hero into a deathtrap. The Flash managed to escape by creating an air funnel to resist the descending ceiling, then running out the door. At super-speed, the Flash collected all of the Claw's men. That seen to, Flash manhandled the Claw himself on the production line of a munitions plant until he cried uncle.

- This version of Claw, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
