Synopsis for "The Doom That Came to K'Dasha-Dheen"

Valcan awakens from a nice slumber only to find an assassin bearing down on him with a blade. He quickly disarms his would be killer and inquires as to why he was the target of assassination. The killer reveals that King Occulus had offered 10,000 Dreknars for the death of an outlander wearing a crimson gauntlet. The two men are suddenly beseeched by a group of monstrous Hell beasts. They surround the two men when they find that a rope has dropped down from the sky. They scale the rope to escape the beasts and they find themselves in the midst of a floating city. A beautiful maiden appears and welcomes them to K’Dasha-Dheen. She introduces herself as Myrallya, a grand priestess of an ancient and benevolent race. She invites the two men to her palace to partake in food and rest. As the two visitors are eating, Myrallya reveals that her city hangs suspended between two separate planes of reality. It also grants its inhabitants immortality but this enchantment must be renewed through the sacrifice of a god. Since no gods are available, the two men find themselves unwilling sacrificial volunteers. Valcan quickly realizes they are in danger and the two men spring into action. They do their best to escape but they are eventually trapped and they are led to an arena. The inhabitants of the city look on as Valcan and the assassin take on a hideous two headed slug monster. They fight the monster with only their swords and Valcan is eventually able to take the advantage and slays the monster in a gruesome display. As the monster dies, the inhabitants of the city begin to dissipate one by one. Valcan and the assassin make their escape by climbing back down the rope which led them to K’Dasha-Dheen. As they touch back down on the ground, they witness the implosion of the great city in the sky. The assassin then turns his evil glance once more upon Valcan and attempts to stab him in the back. Valcan reacts with lighting speed and grabs his hand and stabs the assassin with his own blade. Valcan marvels at the way his crimson hand seemed to come alive on its own as if to protect him from danger.
