It is March 13th, 1993. Veidt's headquarters have become his prison. Every day after school, a young orphan named Cleopatra Pak stands outside, obsessed with the rise and fall of Ozymandias. On her sixteenth birthday, with a fully-grown Bubastis at her side, Miss Pak will call herself Nostalgia. Life doesn't stop.
Cleopatra Pak is an orphan obsessed with the life of Ozymandias/Adrian Veidt. Years later, she has become the vigilante known as Nostalgia.
History
In 1993, years after Doctor Manhattan brought back Ozymandias/Adrian Veidt from Earth 0 and allowed his arrest for the disaster of New York City, the orphan Cleopatra, who had visited Adrian's prison every day after school for years, was seen playing with Adrian's pet, Bubastis, who she had previously adopted and renamed as "Bubs", in front of his prison.[1]
Many years later, Cleoptra adopted the alias Nostalgia after turning 16 and began targeting Clark Dreiberg,[2] the heir to Doctor Manhattan's powers, who had recently become the superhero known as The Watchman.[3]
She initially tried to use the Instrinsic Field Generator, which originally gifted Jon Osterman his powers,[4] but, after failing in making it work again,[2] Cleopatra and Bubs traveled to Karnak, Veidt's former headquarters, in Antarctica, hoping to find the same technology once used by her own idol to track Manhattan.[3] Her evil intentions, however, attracted the attention of the Time Masters who planned to journey into Cleopatra's universe and prevent her from finding Clark and cause a Crisis event.[2]
