- Cliff Carmichael was created by Gerry Conway and Al Milgrom, first appearing in Firestorm #1. However, Cliff Carmichael first appeared as part of Prime Earth continuity in Fury of Firestorm: The Nuclear Men #1 by Gail Simone, Ethan Van Sciver, and Yildiray Cinar.
