Duel of robots

Years later, Cliff was still driving to tests, getting increasingly angry with the scientists for the freedoms they had in being able to eat, leaving his last test frustrated and depressed, meeting someone in the rain, who revealed himself to be Arsenal, who started to attack him, but instead of attacking, Cliff agreed to die until the Doom Patrol and Batman appeared to help him, being attacked by Arsenal, so Cliff attacked the evil robot, defeating him along with Rita and Larry. The Doom Patrol sacrifices themselves for Codsville

On Zahl's ship, Cliff, the Doom Patrol and Batman could not defend themselves as they were restricted from their powers, discovering Zahl's true plan to reunite them, which was that he sought to reveal the team's egocentrism, threatening to destroy Codsville if they agreed to save themselves, but if the team chose to die, the island would be saved, but they would die. Having a moment of decision, Niles granted the team the decision to choose, with Cliff remembering how in the past several shepherds and farmers never bowed down to the pharaoh, finally agreeing to sacrifice themselves, so Zahl attempted the bomb, something Batman tried to avoid, although Zahl used the real detonator with his hat, destroying the island and killing Cliff and the Doom Patrol.[1]

Legacy

After his death, the Doom Patrol was respected and had inspired several people, frustrating Zahl for having been defeated by the defunct team, causing his defeat along with the other villains. Codsville was renamed Four Heroes by the civilians to honor the team's honorable sacrifice and Batman remembered Cliff alongside the Doom Patrol, stating that they would finally rest in peace.[1]
