Colleen Kiernan was a criminal of opportunity, stopped by Batman.

History

Colleen Kiernan was the secretary of John Madigan. Following his death she attempted to use the information she had learned while employed in his illegal endeavors to continue blackmailing his blackmail victims and steal the identity of his heir Heloise Madigan.

Batman saved Colleen's life when Kenneth Rogers sent men to kill her in retaliation for blackmailing him. At the time the Dark Knight though she was Madigan and took her to the Madigan family estate after the attack where the Madigan family lawyer revealed her deception and Batman summarily escorted the identity thief to the police station. After some of Rogers' men attacked the real Heloise the Dark Knight realized the attack had been intended for Colleen. He tracked her down, since she'd gotten out on bail, just in time to save her from being killed by Rogers and having her death covered up by being replaced by a look-alike, just as she'd attempted to do to Heloise.
