Alan Scott's friend Dan is annoyed by his grandfather leaning on Dan to join him working at the weather bureau. As Green Lantern, Alan takes Dan around showing him how much hurricanes, snow, waterspouts, and other manifestations of the weather impact people's lives. He also catches a few crooks along the way, who didn't have the good sense to respect the power of weather phenomena. Having seen up-close how weather affects civilization, Dan eagerly agrees to work at the weather bureau.
