Synopsis for "Mother and Daughter"

After the domes fell, Oliver Queen and Batman worried that things were better before everyone was free and had their powers back. the battles they've been commanded to take part in have no apparent motive or organization behind them, and this worries Dinah, Oliver's wife. Worried about what the younger heroes of their own city might do, she and her daughter Olivia prepare to put a stop to the chaos, only to unexpectedly be teleported away by an unseen force.

The first two people they encounter on the other side are an Oliver Queen and Connor Hawke of an other world. Seeing that Dinah is older, Oliver assumes that she and Olivia are his future wife and daughter. Dinah explains that they are obviously different versions of each other, and notes that clearly, Oliver and she didn't end up together in his timeline. He admits that he made mistakes, and she suggests that he might not have tried hard enough to fix them. In any case, she suspects that they were paired together in this empty version of Metropolis for a reason, suggesting they get to higher ground.

From the top of a building, they see that the city is actually on a piece of land suspended above the planet's surface. At first Oliver supposes that they need to find a way off of their rock, but the worry hangs in the air among them that the empty city is an arena - that they were put there to fight each other.

From above them, they hear the voice of Telos warning that if they do not fight, they will be destroyed, as all other cities who refused were destroyed. If they do not accept the challenge, every innocent in their cities will be killed. Worriedly, father and son and mother and daughter confer with each other until Dinah admits that they must fight, for their city's sake, preparing a Canary Cry. Hurriedly, Oliver looses a tear-gas arrow, causing the women to choke on their breath. As they recover, Oliver and Connor make a run for it. Still, Oliver knows Telos will find a way to force the confrontation he wants.

Dinah and Olivia hope that despite Telos' insistence, he doesn't intend them to kill Oliver and Connor - only to defeat them. Olivia is their secret weapon here. Oliver doesn't know what she is capable of, though he knows Dinah's power well.

Oliver tries to suggest that he and Connor split up, trying to distance himself from his new-found son. Connor refuses to leave him, though, explaining that he trusts his father, even though they haven't known each other long. Oliver responds that he doesn't deserve that trust. Even so, he admits that he is happy to have Connor by his side.

Hoping to get the drop on the girls, they sneak up on them, loosing their arrows - only to find that they shot at holograms. Suddenly, Dinah leaps down from above onto Ollie's back, disarming him handily. Connor, meanwhile, begs Olivia to stop fighting with him, but she warns that there's no choice. Connor believes, though, that there's always a choice. Dinah tosses Oliver into him, bowling him over, and with them together, Olivia unleashes her own whistle that paralyzes their muscles, allowing Dinah to easily tranquilize them. With both men down, Dinah calls out to see if Telos is satisfied with their victory. Moments later, all four are teleported away.

Hours later, Oliver and Connor wake on the roof of the Ashram, followed by a sudden shudder of the planet. Though they lost their challenge, they both sense something has changed. They are alive, and they are home - and now all that's left is to carry on as father and son.
