The Corinthian was a sadistic and cruel nightmare created by Dream who left the Dreaming to become a serial killer in the waking world. After being unmade and remade by Dream, he was once again released into the waking world to atone for his crimes.

- Nightmarish Physiology: A nightmare creature living in the guise of man, with jaws in place of eyes, the Corinthian is "a dark mirror and tormentor to humanity." He is commonly known for eating the eyes of humans with his own eyes.[3]
- Dimensional Travel: The Corinthian is capable of entering and exiting The Dreaming at will.[4]
- Immortality: As a nightmare, Corinthian does not age and cannot die by any ordinary means.[3]
- Nightmare Reality Alteration: While in the nightmares of others, the Corinthian can alter reality as he wishes.[3]

- Corinthian was created by Neil Gaiman and Mike Dringenberg, first appearing in Sandman (Volume 2) #10. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Corinthian first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in The Dreaming (Volume 2) #3 by Simon Spurrier and Bilquis Evely.
