Synopsis for "Countdown Presents: Lord Havok and the Extremists - Part One: The Arrival"

A short history of Angor details the election of two superheroes into office after Angor goes through a near apocalyptic period. President Tin Man and his VP Americommando pass a Metahuman Act ordering that all Metahumans register themselves with the government and join a united military police force, the Meta Militia. All non-compliant Metahumans are arrested and forced into concentration camps, sometimes being sentenced to their deaths. In his lair, six years before the rest of the story takes place, standing over the recently dead body of Carny, who has betrayed them, Lord Havok gathers Dreamslayer, Doctor Diehard, Gorgon and Tracer, his recently formed team The Extremists, and announces that they will be going to war.

Later, Lord Havok murders President Tin Man on national television during a presidential address about The Extremists, by gorging him in the back of the neck. He tells the public that "One man's terrorist is another man's Freedom Fighter," and that he plans on eliminating every "Tyrannical Imbecile foolish enouigh to accept the mantle of President."

In the present, now President Americommando is lying in bed with the wife of his VP, Blue Jay (who he has sent on a foreign mission), and tells her he doesn't view Lord Havok as much of a threat as he's cracked up to be. Then he gets a phone call from Bowman telling him to turn on the news for a report about the situation in Slovekia.

Having just captured the royal Slovekian family, after burning most of Krakin, the Slovekian capitol city to the ground, and decimating their armies, Lord Havok shoots every member of the Royal Family in their own home. He hesitates before shooting the Prince, a very young boy, and afterwards when one of his troops asks him why he immediately turns around and kills the soldier.

Leaving the palace, he calls the rest of the Extremists together to deal with Americommando's invasion force, which has come sooner than he expected. Unbeknownst to Lord Havok, the group he believes to be the invasion force is actually The Challengers from Beyond.
