Synopsis for "The Saga of the DNAliens"
This story is reprinted from Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #136.
Golden Guardian rushes into the fight to protect the Newsboy Legions from the false Jimmy Olsen. They watch on as the combined efforts of Superman and Guardian have little effect on him. Eventually the two Jimmy Olsens meet up, and the false one becomes very confused. Superman uses this confusion to save the real Jimmy, and the Micro Scrapper Troopers take out the false with a Knock-out gas. They then liquify him into being frozen solid.
Kalibak and Simyan report to Darkseid, and he gave the usual “it-isn't-good-enough” response. They prepare a new problem for the people at the Project, looking over the human cells that they were adapting. The original Newsboy Legion comes, explaining that the new Guardian is the same as the original one. Then comes the moment of explanation, followed by a scene of Superman explaining the Project. He shows them the clones of the Newsboy Legion, how things work, and introduces Dubbilex.
The end scene is one of the human cells that Kalibak and Simyan were harvesting, hatching.
