Courtney Whitmore is the superhero Stargirl.

History

While going through the belongings of her stepfather, Pat Dugan, Courtney discovered the Cosmic Converter Belt. Using the superpowered belt, she became a superhero, working alongside S.T.R.I.P.E.. She would later be given the Cosmic Staff, inspiring her to become Stargirl.

• Courtney's New Earth counterpart took on the alias Star-Spangled Kid before becoming Stargirl, as opposed to being a nameless adventurer.
