Synopsis for "Shadow in the Mirror"

After escaping from Arkham Asylum,[1] The Creeper leaps on Gotham City rooftops cackling. He spots a group of teens accosting a street person and beats them to defend the elderly man. He runs to Jack Ryder's apartment and converts to his human form as he dives into the closed window which awakens Vera Sweet.

Jack then imagines himself on a plane, investigating the jungles of Parador with Miriam Leary when The Creeper emerges on the wing of the plane, demanding him to transform. Ryder comes to and is actually sitting on the floor of his apartment with Vera confronting him. She has taken over the least on his old apartment while Ryder was transformed into The Creeper, fighting Eclipso[2] and recuperating in an asylum.

He takes a shower and The Creeper appears in the bathroom mirror, telling him to transform. Ryder resists and enters the living room, where Vera has evidently gotten Chinese food for dinner. He immediately recognizes that she is Proteus: the villain claims to have killed Vera and the two do battle as Creepers. Proteus is far stronger and The Creeper ends up strapped to an operating table with Emil Yatz standing over his body to perform surgery.
