Jur-Ll was an evil counterpart to Jor-El, from the Krypton of the Earth-Three universe.

He was sentenced to the Phantom Zone for his crimes -- in fact, he was the first prisoner to be sent to the Earth-Three Phantom Zone. Eventually, Jur-Ll was able to escape from the Phantom Zone, reaching Kandor on Earth-One's Krypton, on the exact day that Brainiac shrank and stole Kandor. Jur-Ll, now in diminutive size like the rest of Kandor, went underground and became a crime boss under the name Crime-Lord.

Decades later, Jur-Ll battled Kandor's costumed crime fighters Nightwing and Flamebird. He tried to steal the Sunstone on multiple occasions. Only on the last attempt was Jur-Ll successful, whereupon he revealed his endgame of using the built-up charge of yellow-sun energies within the Sunstone to enlarge himself back to normal-sized, at the cost of destroying the rest of Kandor. However, exposure to the energies of the Sunstone backfired on Jur-Ll, and he disintegrated entirely.

  • Originally, the alternate universe that Jur-Ll came from was not named. It was identified as Earth-Three in 2006's Absolute Crisis on Infinite Earths. Jur-Ll's connection to Ultraman is unknown.
  • This version of Crime-Lord, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
