Cyril Sheldrake was the son of Percy Sheldrake and together they formed the team of Knight and Squire. Cyril was Squire until his father's death, after which he took the mantle of Knight. With his father, he was a member of the Batmen of All Nations and with a Squire of his own, joined Batman Incorporated.
History
Joining the ranks of Batman Incorporated, Cyril and Beryl soon found themselves caught in an explosion. As Cyril succeeded in resuscitating Beryl, he was grabbed from behind by Heretic and fatally injured with a broken neck.[2]
Cyril was buried in England, crowds filled the streets to see a horse driven carriage carry him to his final resting place. The Prime Minister queried possible ways to resurrect Cyril.[3] Beryl later succeeded Cyril as the new Knight.[4]

- Knight was created by Bill Finger and Dick Sprang, first appearing in Batman #62. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Knight first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Batwoman (Volume 2) #2 by J.H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman.
