Cyrus Gold was a criminal locked up in Blackgate Penitentiary around the time of Jack the Ripper's murders.
History
Cyrus Gold was a criminal who was locked up in Blackgate Penitentiary. The warden allowed the prisoners to engage in fist-fight duels and Cyrus emerged as the dominant one. When Bruce Wayne was incarcerated at Blackgate for the murders of Jack the Ripper, he challenged Cyrus to a fight. Though Cyrus rejected dueling him claiming he was weak, Bruce hit him with a lunch tray, which caused him to attack in response. As Bruce ducked out of the way, Cyrus hit another prisoner which soon led to a prison riot, allowing Bruce to break out of Blackgate.
