The DC Animated Universe (officially DCAU) is the shared continuity of several animated series, films, comics and video games based on DC Comics publications. Created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, it began in 1992 with Batman: The Animated Series, and has since released content in various forms.
History
Though named a "Universe", it is actually a multiverse of its own (with at least nine Earths), with parallel worlds inhabited by an authoritarian Superman, imperialistic Kryptonians, a Nazi Superman, the Justice Lords, the Justice Guild, and the Justice Alliance, as well as two universes where all life has been eradicated by the Anti-Life Equation.
