Synopsis for Aquaman: "The Menace of Aqualad!"
This story is reprinted from Adventure Comics #270.
Bringing a pod of whales to the mainland, Aquaman and Aqualad are stopped by a ships captain, who gives Aquaman a cake because that Sunday is Aquaman's birthday. Aquaman and Aqualad then drop off the whales at a local marine exhibit for a benefit of retired seamen, there Aquaman puts on a show for spectators.
After the exhibit, Aquaman is about to return to the sea when an old woman falls into the water, Aquaman saves her life and she reveals that she is a fortune teller and that she will reward Aquaman with a free fortune telling. In her tent she tells Aquaman that there will be a great danger that somebody new in his life may replace him.
Later that night, back at sea, Aquaman is woken by his pet octopus Topo, who alerts him that a ship is sinking. Aquaman and Aqualad go to the rescue however Aqualad is knocked on the head by the sinking mast-head of the ship. Soon after, Aqualad begins acting strange, collecting items and asking questions about Aquaman's weaknesses.
During a break up of some pirates stealing rare fish, Aqualad doesn't participate in the fight because he is too busy collecting a fish bowl and harpoon gun. That night, when Aquaman falls asleep, Aqualad ties him up in a net and leaves him alone. When Aquaman awakes he has to fight a sword fish all alone. Finding the boy he demands answers, and Aqualad takes him back to their undersea cave home and shows him that he was really constructing a trophy collection as a birthday gift.

A man named John Kieves borrows money from a loan shark named Karl Casimer. When he fails to repay the debt however, Casimer sends his enforcers to put some pressure on him. The thugs brutally beat on John and threaten him to pay up. John's son, Mark, decides to take revenge for his family's misfortune by going after Casimer. The super-hero known as Dove convinces Mark that such a route could only lead to more trouble. While Dove deals with the angry Mark, his brother, Hawk goes after Casimer's crew directly. He tangles with the mobsters and ultimately wins the day. Elmond police officers arrive and take the criminals into custody.

Synopsis for Sandman and Sandy: "A Drama in Dreams"
This story is reprinted from Adventure Comics #81.
Sandy Hawkins spots some clues, develops a suspicion, and deduces that Wes Dodds has been replaced by an imposter, called only "Actor," one who is himself haunted by The Sandman in his dreams. He follows the imposter (first in a car trunk, then on a rear bumper) to a hideaway, at an old abandoned mine in the hills, (the "Ghost Mine") where he finds the real Dodds tied up by kidnappers. Sandy changes clothes and bursts into their shack, but gets captured as well. The bad guys drop Wes and Sandy down a mine shaft into fifty feet of water, but working together, both escape from the crooks, plus under his clothes Wes has on his action suit, WITH a wirepoon gun. Sandman then breaks into his own penthouse apartment and nabs Actor, taking his place, to expose the crooks' scheme.

Synopsis for "Superbaby's Search for a Pet"
This story is reprinted from Superboy #130.
Superbaby misses his pet Krypto, so he decides to find a new pet. Unsatisfied with the animals he finds on the farm, Clark causes trouble by releasing animals from the zoo. When order is restored, Superbaby tries to capture an intelligent sea serpent for a pet. Instead, the serpents try to make Superbaby their pet. Superbaby then searches in space and finds an alien shape-changer. It changes into a Kryptonian creature and is capable of hurting Clark. Superbaby stops it and returns to Earth without a pet. Years later, he would eventually be reunited with Krypto.
