Synopsis for Superman and Green Arrow: "Inferno from the Sky!"
As Superman signs autographs for fans on the street, he remains unaware that a man named Fred Garmer is desperately trying to reach his alter ego Clark Kent over the phone. As Superman flies away, Garmer gets Kent's answering machine before he is chased off by some shooters. Fred ducks into the hotel he has been staying at, which just so happens to be the same hotel where Oliver Queen is staying. As Queen dawns his Green Arrow costume he hears shots out int he hallway and arrives too late to stop the shooters from gunning down Garmer. After Green Arrow rounds them up, he goes to the wounded man who tells him that oil magistrate Bo Force is involved in the shooting and dies before he can get anymore details. Green Arrow then calls in the police to report the shooting before going out to investigate things further. Superman meanwhile comes to the rescue of an old couple that are suffering from a flat tire, and helps them along their way. The old people remind him of his deceased adopted parents the Kents.
While in the South West, Bo Force has his men drilling for a well of special water that could be a key to the energy crisis hitting America. He shows his aid that this special water is powerful to be a replacement for hi-octane fuels. At present though it proves to be highly flammable, but he intends to keep it for himself and capitalize on it as much as possible, hence his need to silence Fred Garmer, his former secretary.
When Green Arrow comes snooping around in his civilian guise, Force orders him removed from the property, painfully. As Oliver decides to go back as Green Arrow to figure out what's going on, Clark Kent returns to the Daily Planet and checks his messages. When he hears Garmer's message and learns from Jimmy that Fred was murdered earlier, he decides to investigate as Superman.
Meanwhile, the Green Arrow tries to fly over Bo Force's operation in a plane but it gets shot down, forcing him to parachute to the ground. As Superman arrives on the scene, he stops the crashing plane from hitting a farm house, while Green Arrow is beaten into submission by an army of Bo's thugs. Tied up, Green Arrow is placed on a geyser site, and as Force waits for the water to burst, which would boil the Green Arrow to death, he boasts about how he intends to sell his new fuel discovery at top dollar instead of giving it to the world.
Superman then swoops in and saves Green Lantern, When Bo attempts to kill them both with a flamethrower tank, Superman deals with it when suddenly an earthquake hits the location. Superman goes to investigate and finds that the underground river that feeds the special water has caused an eruption in a nearby town. As Green Arrow disarms and knocks out Bo, Superman is forced to create a vortex to send the entire supply of water out into space in order to save the town. Although Bo Force's murder scheme has been exposed and he is off to jail, his greed has cost the world a valuable energy resource.
