Synopsis for "The Big House of Monsters"
This story is reprinted from Star-Spangled War Stories #132.
A young cop accompanies a thug named Nick as they travel by train on the way to prison. Nick attempts to bribe the young officer but the train suddenly derails which gives Nick the opportunity to escape. The young officer is found unconscious with wads of money stuffed in his pocket. His superiors assume that he accepted a bribe and intentionally allowed Nick to escape. Time passes and the young officer enlists in the army in his pursuit of the prisoner that got away. The young officer is desperate to apprehend Nick to clear his name. He eventually locates Nick in a Japanese prison camp and the two escape. They eventually use a raft to sail away from the prison island but they eventually arrive at another island that is occupied by monstrous dinosaur creatures. The two men team up together to fight off the monsters but at the same time they distrust one another because Nick knows that he must serve a prison sentence when he returns. The young cop Jackie is eventually abducted by a sea serpent creature much to the delight of Nick who feels that he is now free. What Nick doesn't realize is that he must now fend for himself as the monsters attack him from all sides. He realizes that he is truly in a big house of monsters as he fights for his life.
