Synopsis for Superman: "Eterno the Immortal"

This story is reprinted from Action Comics #343.

The Superman Revenge Squad found a towering ancient Super-Robot named Eterno the Immortal, constructed a billion years ago by an extinct race called the Xan. It languished in the center of the Earth, paralysed by the rays of an element called Absorbium. The fifty-foot tall robot had super-strength, super-intelligence, and was indestructible; and the Revenge Squad believed that it had powers beyond even Superman's.

They freed Eterno with a Cyclo-Ray and unleashed their unwitting comrade from a volcano to set it against the Man of Steel. Eterno wreaked great destruction upon Metropolis as it fought Superman to a standstill. The Superman Revenge Squad flew their spacecraft too close and gloated; which resulted in Eterno discovering that it was being used.

Eterno ignored Superman, and trained Destructo-Rays on the Revenge Squad's craft. As the Robot came to smash them, they fired Absorbium rounds at it and paralysed Eterno; and its carcass fell on their starship and killed them all.

Synopsis for "The Indestructible Giant"

This story is reprinted from Strange Adventures #28.

A giant monster appears in a small midwestern town. Commuters are horrified as the giant picks up their train and tears it apart. The giant wanders from location to location destroying military planes, ships and bridges. The military is helpless to stop the giant as it continues on its rampage. At one point the giant is struck in the shoulder by lightning, and he seems to be injured. The authorities notice the effects of the lighting and they come up with the idea of using a lighting gun to stop the giant. The only concern is that the giant being seems to be carrying a set of guns around his waist. If the lighting gun fails then the giant might turn his weapons upon humans. They decide to go ahead with the lighting attack and the Giant is killed. Upon examining his dead body, authorities notice that the weapons he carried were fake, made out of wood. They then surmise that the giant was actually a child that was lost and accidentally wandered to another planet (Earth). All of the items that he had picked up were like toys to him in a vast playground.

Synopsis for Wonder Woman: "The Human Charm Bracelet!"

This story is reprinted from Wonder Woman #106.

Wonder Woman is spending the day in her civilian identity as Lt. Diana Prince, working for Military Intelligence. She notes that the date is June 19th, but she can't seem to recall why this day is so important.

Meanwhile, on the distant Planet G, home to a race of giants, this world's version of the Olympics are in progress. One giant, Tooroo, wins the contest and is allowed to take any prize he wants. He selects the planet Earth, and the judges tell him that he can only take the planet if he manages to defeat Earth's champion, Wonder Woman. As he enters his rocket, his lover Rikkaa asks him to bring her back something nice from the planet Earth. As Tooroo rockets towards the Earth, he wonders what he can possibly bring his lover as a gift.

While back on Earth, Steve Trevor is called to action in front of Military Intelligences headquarters, when two spies attempt to escape by helicopter. With Steve out of sight, Diana changes into Wonder Woman and lends a helping hand. As she rounds up the spies, she is unaware that her mother Queen Hippolyta is watching from Paradise Island, wracked with fear as the 10:00 hour approaches.

Later, when Tooroo arrives and begins collecting Earth objects to be part of a giant charm bracelet, that he intends to give to Rikkaa, Wonder Woman and Steve attempt to stop the alien marauder, but end up being captured themselves, due to the failure of Wonder Woman's weapons. When Wonder Woman attempts to escape, she remembers why June 19th is such an important date: On this particular date, her weapons would lose their magical abilities for 24 hours at 10:00.

They are knocked out and taken back to Planet G, where they are made part of the charm bracelet that Tooroo plans on giving to his beloved. When Wonder Woman and Steve revive, Wonder Woman wonders if the 24 hours have elapsed so that her items have their powers back. Keeping this quiet, Wonder Woman challenges Tooroo to an Olympic challenge to win her and the Earth's freedom. Tooroo, being the champion of his world and thinking Wonder Woman to be powerless, accepts the challenge.
