Synopsis for "A Hair-Rising Tale"

In the town of Rutland, a group of children telling ghost stories on Halloween Night. A boy named Tommy claims he has a story that happened right in their hometown, and it involved both the Super Friends and a monster. The Super Friends respond to a distress call someone sent, only to find everyone peacefully enjoying the town's Halloween Parade. The peacefulness is abruptly ended when a massive, hairy, humanoid monster arrives and goes on a rampage. Every attempt the heroes make to stop the monster is useless, as it can somehow resist both the Lasso of Truth and Batman's knockout gas. Thankfully, the heroes find the man who sent the distress call, who introduces himself as Dr. Zagarian.

He explains he was attempting to create a medical substitute for lost human tissue. He succeeded in creating a substance similar to plastic, which would allow amputees to regrow their missing limbs. To test this new material, he created an entire body with it, but the experiment went wrong. The body continued to grow hair and muscles until it came to life, and became the monster known as the Shaggy Man. When the creature escaped the lab, Dr. Zagarian contacted the Super Friends, but the beast appears unstoppable. Thankfully, Woman Woman realizes that the Shaggy Man was essentially a newborn who was fearfully lashing out at his unfamiliar surroundings. She convinces the Shaggy Man to stop fighting by simply being nice to him, which calms the creature down. After letting the Shaggy Man enjoy the parade, the Super Friends place him in a secluded nature preserve where he could live peacefully. The children are skeptical of Tommy's story, until they discover that he is the nephew of Dr. Zagarian. The doctor explains to the children that the Shaggy Man was not truly evil, and reminds them that no one should ever be judged by how they look.
