Synopsis for "Savage, Part One: Daddy's Little Girl"

On the campus of a Washington, DC university, the daughter of a Senator is abducted. The day after, FBI Agent Kassidy Sage is debriefed by Assisstant Director Bryan Yu on how the abduction mirrors other recent kidnappings, and how her personal past would make her an ideal candidate for the investigation. She is scheduled to meet with a prisoner at Belle Reve to discuss the case and seek his potentially useful insight, as the kidnapping mirrors his crimes from years past. Before leaving, Sage watches a video of the prisoner in question attacking the previous agents attempting to interview him.

At Belle Reve, Sage is initially stopped from proceeding into the prison. She is informed that a prisoner has escaped his cell and that the prison is on lockdown until they find him. Sage uses her FBI credentials to bypass the lockdown and is granted access to the high security cell that contains her prisoner of interest: her father, the infamous Jon "the Vandal" Savage. It is revealed that, when Kassidy was ten-years-old, her father was arrested for multiple brutal murders. Savage claims he was performing a ritual to honor the Gods who blessed him with immortality. In the years to follow, Kassidy changed her last name from Savage to Sage, was a stand-out student at the FBI academy in Quantico and now dedicates her life to stopping serial killers like her father. This visit marks the first time she's seen her father in sixteen years. Since his arrest.

Agent Sage reviews the information of the case with Savage, how a serial killer who mimics her father's own modus operandi has already killed seven women and abducted an eigth, a Senator's daughter. Furthermore, a witness to the most recent attack, while in critical-to-fatal condition, was able to inform them that the killer likely has superhuman abilities of some kind. With time of the essence before the so-called Swan Killer claims another victim, the FBI has grown desperate enough to ask the one man with a unique insight into how to catch the murderer.

After being informed of all the facts of the case, Savage grows silent and changes subject. He reminds Agent Sage that there is an escapee in the prison, named Red Death, who is attempting to escape. Just as Sage realizes that the missing prisoner is likely hiding in the ventilation system of the prison, Red Death bursts into the room and attacks her with his electricity powers. A shoot-out between the two ensues, until Savage reminds Kassidy that Red Death's powers are electrical in nature. Using the coffee she brought with her to the interview, Sage is able to temporarily stop Red Death from using his power, only to shoot him cleanly through his shouting mouth.

While Belle Reve security bags and carts the dead body of Red Death away, Savage agrees to help Kassidy with her case, but on the condition that he be allowed to visit the crime scene in person. Initially reluctant, Kassidy realizes that her time-table gives her very few options and makes the arrangements for Savage to come with her to the abduction site.
