Synopsis for "Chaos Crisis, Part One"

During a picnic in Never Lake, in Sonic's Universe, Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower and Amy Rose were having a peaceful time. That peace was interrupted by the arrival of a mysterious ship from a portal in the sky. The trio has never seen anything like this before, with Amy remarking it is not Little Planet while Sonic remarks it doesn't look like anything his old arch-nemesis Dr. Eggman would pull up. Parademons would suddenly appear as they start attacking the three. As they kept fighting them off, more of these creatures kept coming. As they get surrounded, Sonic would carry Amy and Tails along with him as he flees the scene, theorizing that other portals may have appeared elsewhere in his world.

Meanwhile, the giant ship floats towards Angel Island, where Knuckles the Echidna is protecting the Master Emerald at the Altar of Emerald, fighting off the Parademons. Desaad would tell to Darkseid that the Fatherbox states that the island itself it held afloat by the huge emerald itself. Additionally, it also states that the gem has the power to neutralize their main target. Darkseid demands Desaad to fire the laser at the Master Emerald to ensure it would neutralize his goal no more, even if it costs the Ragna Rock's energy which Desaad remarked, to which Darkseid insists on its utilization anyway. Superman arrives and manages to get Knuckles off the Master Emerald before it gets destroyed in pieces, as Angel Island falls and crashes towards the ocean, remaining there.

Sonic and the rest arrived at Sunset City, which is being attacked by Darkseid's forces. As Sonic goes ahead to fight them, the Flash arrives and runs aside the hedgehog. Mistaking him for Krakkl, Sonic would correct him that he got the wrong person. They would quip on each other's speed before they enter the city, where Silver the Hedgehog is fighting the Parademons via his Psychokinesis. As he stunned them, the foes would get attacked by Green Lantern. Both heroes would assist one another to fight of the enemies. As a Parademon is prepared to harm a mother and her child, Batman and Shadow the Hedgehog strike the critter down, saving the family. They both share a stare before running off.

Amy and Tails would walk through the streets, where they encounter a giant enemy. Tails and Amy then work together to attack the foe, with Tails performing a Tail Swipe and Amy utilizing her Piko Piko Hammer. Suddenly, Wonder Woman utilizes her Lasso of Truth to keep the enemy mobilized, as Cyborg fires a laser at it. As they both suggest to the two if they needed a hand, they would be interrupted by Kalibak, who states that he will slaughter everyone. Out of nowhere, Knuckles arrived and punched him away. As Kalibak was being snarky at the punch being barely effective against him, Superman footdives at him, putting an end to him.

With everything settled down, Amy would ask Knuckles about Angel Island's status. Knuckles responds that due to the Master Emerald's destruction, Angel Island could not remained floating in the sky on its own, falling in the ocean at the end. Shadow demands explainations about the monsters, as well as them. Sonic and the Flash would arrive with the group, still quipping upon one another. With everyone reunited, they introduce to each other to be kept up to speed. Knuckles would ask who is responsible of this mess. Cyborg responds back by saying it was Darkseid, saying that he is bad news, wanting to conquer worlds and looking for the Anti-Life Equation. Wonder Woman joins in on the conversation and reveals that the Justice League have thwarted Darkseid's plans time and time again. She revealed that Darkseid has launched the Ragna Rock, a mobile satelitte that can travel across dimensions. The team is guessing that Darkseid is planning to seek worlds and powers outside of their own reality to fuel his conquests more.

Cyborg reveals that Darkseid has found Sonic's world by casting a wide net. The Justice League were able to arrive in this world by creating a Boom Tube of their own to try and stop him before things got worse. Silver thinks that Darkseid is potentially going after the Chaos Emeralds, seven mystic gemstones of ultimate power. Green Lantern and Batman state that the power of this scope within Darkseid's possession could either fuel the Ragna Rock and destroy countless worlds or bypass his own search and manifest the Anti-Life Equation directly. Wonder Woman questions if the Chaos Emeralds have any counter to their power, to which Knuckles said there was, being the Master Emerald, although Darkseid blew it up earlier. As Superman suggests to everyone to utilizes their own strength to create a plan, Shadow interrupts and states that he does not any time for this, as he walks. As Batman encounters Shadow before he can go away, he asks him who he couldn't save in the past. Batman mentions he couldn't save his parents. Shadow opens up and reveals that he couldn't save Maria from being gunned down by the military while she kept him safe.

Trivia

  • When The Flash questions about Sonic's speed, he mentions "crazy mad-science treadmill accidents". While mad-science treadmills are a longstanding part of Flash's history, in the form of the Cosmic Treadmill, Sonic has a history with treadmill incidents. It is a reference to early Sonic media prior Sonic Adventure, such as Fleetway Editions' Sonic the Comic and the promotional comic for the first Sonic the Hedgehog game, where Sonic's speed and appearance came from him, originally brown, running so fast on a treadmill that it caused the item to explode, giving him his iconic speed and his blue appearance.
