Synopsis for "Chaos Crisis, Part Three"

On the Watchtower, Knuckles demands that Mr. Terrific return him and his friends back to their world, but Mr. Terrific tells him he can't as he believes their world is gone, Sonic telling Knuckles to calm down. Silver mentions that at least Darkseid is gone, but Amy berates him for thinking like that when their friends are gone. Tails believes that their world isn't gone, but he needs time to figure it out. Mr. Terrific warns that villains are going to find out the main Justice League is gone and go wild, which Sonic decides its time to pay back their actions by taking up their roles. As Shadow muses if he should protect this world with them, Silver realizes that the Green Lantern ring John gave him is working for him. Mr. Terrific decides that if they're going to help protect the world, they're going to need to look the part.

In Sector 2006, Silver assists Ch'p, Tomar-Re and Kilowog in dealing with Sinestro. Sinestro boasts that he has a newfound power and uses it to briefly knock out the Green Lanterns. Reciting the Green Lantern Corps oath, the Lanterns recover and combine their power to create a massive hammer, which is used to knock out Sinestro's construct and send the villain running. To Silver's surprise, inside Sinestro's Yellow Power Battery was the Yellow Chaos Emerald, which he believed lost with their world. He requests to return to Earth and ask one of the other Lanterns to take his place.

At Washington, DC, Gorilla Grodd and his army marches across the Capitol, using a mysterious new power to overwhelm Supergirl and Hawkgirl. Grodd gloats at adding the two into his army until Hawkgirl tells him that he shouldn't let his guard down. He's snagged around the neck by Amy Rose, now donning a Wonder Woman-inspired outfit, who boasts that the League would never kneel to him before smashing Grodd with her Piko-Piko Hammer. As Supergirl regains her second wind, Amy helps Hawkgirl to her feet, but stops her from destroying Grodd's helmet as it held the Red Chaos Emerald. She composes herself, deciding to stop the invaders before she tells Hawkgirl what the Emerald's appearance means.

In Metropolis, Knuckles muses about his temporary role as Guardian of Metropolis, having donned a version of Superman's outfit, before he spots and goes to meet Lois Lane, having been kept in the loop with everything. She tells him that Lex Luthor wants to speak to him, though since it might have to do with Superman's disappearance, Knuckles decides to speak to him. Heading to his tower, Luthor reveals he wants Knuckles to work with him, giving him support that the League won't give him, but Knuckles turns him down. In turn, Luthor reaches for a case and unveils the Green Chaos Emerald, which Knuckles happily takes, Luthor stunned that it wasn't what he thought it was. Knuckles goes to leave, before realizing something and crashing back into Luthor's office - he thought the Chaos Emerald was Kryptonite and he was trying to kill him!

In Gotham City, the Joker is blasting cars and buildings in his Jokermobile when Shadow, wearing his own Bat-Suit and driving a smaller Batmobile, chases after him. Joker uses his rocket launcher to destroy the Batmobile, but Shadow escapes and uses his Spin Attack to destroy the Jokermobile and stop the clown from getting his weapon. The Joker is impressed at Shadow's look and moodiness but wants him to really put on a show. Shadow instead kicks him in the face, knocking him out and getting the Purple Chaos Emerald.

In Central City, Sonic chases after Reverse-Flash to get the Cyan Chaos Emerald. The criminal is too fast for Sonic, dodging his attacks while mocking the hedgehog for trying to be the Flash's replacement as he was responsible for shaping the real Flash into a hero through “tragedy and loss”. However, to his surprise, Sonic was able to swap the Chaos Emerald for a soda can, then pummel Reverse-Flash. Dazed and confused, Reverse-Flash believes that he tapped into the Emerald's power to overtake him, but Sonic tells him it’s his secret. Calling the rest of his friends, he finds out from Amy that they all found a Chaos Emerald and Tails wants them to meet up at the Hall of Justice. Before they enter, Beast Boy, having shifted to a green echidna, tells them only one "otter" per group before Tails tells him to cut it out, then asks him to look over things.

Inside the Hall of Justice, Tails reveals that he and the Teen Titans wrestled the White Chaos Emerald from Brother Blood and hypothesizes that the last Chaos Emerald isn't on Earth. He is proven correct as the Emeralds detect the last in another dimension. Silver thinks their world was wiped out, but Tails corrects him in that Mr. Terrific couldn't detect their world. He thinks Darkseid's Dimensional Engine malfunctioned and shunted their world there. Sonic is ready to go back to their world, but Shadow isn't so sure; if they go back, they risk bringing back Darkseid. Knuckles, however, points out that the League sacrificed themselves to save them and their world and that, if the roles were reversed, they would do the same. They agree to take the fight back to Darkseid.

At the Watchtower, Mr. Terrific helps set the way back to their home and bids them farewell, telling them they were a fine Justice League. With that, Sonic and his friends race back home.

Notes

  • As of now, the true identity of Reverse-Flash is not revealed. Despite wearing Hunter Zolomon's suit, he's referred to as being from the future, which may suggest he could also be Eobard Thawne. However, Reverse-Flash has mentioned shaping the Flash into a hero through “tragedy and loss” likely through his abilities of time travel and doesn’t believe Sonic to be fit to wear the Flash’s outfit, which gives more credit to his true identity being that of Hunter instead.

Trivia
