DV8 Annual (Volume 1) with a cover date of January, 1998.
Synopsis for "Head Trips"
In New York, Copycat is being held captive by a superhuman slave trader named Monger and his assistant, Hollow Echo. As they try to erase her mind to prepare her for sale, she remembers how Hollow Echo captured her by pretending to be a DJ and inviting her to a party. She came to New York after feeling left out when the older members of DV8 used fake IDs to go clubbing. The next day, the team returns to IO and finds her missing. Taking a helicopter, they track Copycat's transponder to New York and find Monger's base in an old factory. Unbeknownst to them, Baiul and Bob are there meeting with Monger about attending a slave auction. As Copycat struggles to retain her identity, DV8 get inside and disguise themselves as guards. Monger begins the auction and presents Copycat for sale. Bob instantly recognizes her, but Ivana orders him not to react. Copycat uses her powers to pit Monger's guards against each other until they reveal themselves as DV8. The other guards attack as the crowd flees. While the rest of the team fights, Copycat frees Monger's other prisoners. He tries to stop her with his telekinetic powers, but she uses her own powers to shut them off. As a result, he falls into some exposed wiring and gets electrocuted. The next morning, Bob wakes up the team for training.
