Daalon, also known as Lord Daalon, was a Controller gone rogue who created the Triarch, artificial gods with whom he planned to remake the universe.

Daalon was among the Maltusians who split from the Guardians of the Universe to form the Controllers. Daalon intended to make devices capable of restoring order in the universe. Seeking ideas, he returned to Maltus, where he learned about the generations-long prophecy of the Triarch. This Triarch, as legends had it, were powerful gods who vanished from Maltus after slaying their father and vowed to return and remake Maltus and, through it, the universe.

Inspired by those legends, Daalon created three artificial beings and programmed them to believe they were the "Holy Triarch." Being faithful to their programming, the Triarch repeated their story by attacking their father and vanishing. However, Daalon crawled into a life-sustaining chamber, where he lay asleep for eons.[1]

When Daalon awoke, thanks to the investigation of Vril Dox and the L.E.G.I.O.N., the Holy Triarch had returned to Maltus, and they were ravaging the planet. Daalon couldn't help but admire the work of his children, so he decided to reunite with them and help them fulfill their destiny.[2]

Daalon found the opposition of the Green Lantern Corps, the Darkstars, and the L.E.G.I.O.N., who joined forces to protect Maltus. Daalon's power was formidable, capable of withstanding their combined attacks. However, the full-on strike against him was just a distraction. While he fought his enemies, the Guardians and Controllers convinced the Triarch to rebel against their father, making them see that they were being used as tools of destruction. As their last deed, the Triarch sacrificed themselves, using their father's powers to restore the damage they caused and transform Maltus into a paradise.

In the aftermath of the battle, the Controllers took care of their renegade brother. Daalon's current whereabouts or condition remain unknown.[3]
