Damian Wayne is the son of Batman and Talia al Ghul and the second Robin after Dick Grayson.
History
Early Life
Damian was the son of Talia and Batman, and was raised in the League of Assassins and trained by his grandfather Ra's al Ghul. Damian grew up being told stories about his father and went through brutal training, in one instance climbing a mountain which resulted in a broken arm.[1]
Joining the Bat-Family
Son of Batman
One day Ra's former top student Deathstroke attacked the League's base and killed their leader. Out of anger, Damian attacked Deathstroke and stabbed out his eye. Deathstroke and his men escaped while Damian and Talia laid Ra's to rest before Talia decided to leave him in the care of his father, wanting to protect him while she went after Deathstroke. After initial difficulties caused by Damian's desire to seek revenge and a fight with Nightwing, Bruce decides to make Damian the new Robin and train him to be a hero.
During their investigation they discover and foil Deathstroke's plans, but when Slade kidnapped his mother Damian went after her with Bruce following him. In the following battle Talia is saved while Deathstroke is seemingly killed, and after a brief discussion Talia reluctantly allows Damian to stay with Bruce.[1] Sometime after this, while Batman was with the Justice League, Robin and Nightwing fought Scarecrow.[2]
Batman vs Robin
Several months after training with Bruce, Robin encounters Talon while Robin and Batman attempted to stop the criminal Dollmaker. Talon kills Dollmaker and vanishes before Batman arrives, with Damian's father assuming he murdered Dollmaker. This results in arguments between father and son, while Talon reappears claiming to want to train Damian and that he's a superhero who kills dangerous criminals.
Eventually Robin ended up fighting Batman, who had discovered Talon's connection to the Court of Owls, and Damian decided to leave with Talon. However when he revealed his identity to the Court they imprisoned and tried to kill him, and despite Talon saving him he also tried to kill Batman. The following battle against the Court's undead army ended with Talon committing suicide by forcing Damian to fatally stab him, and traumatised by the experience Damian decided to leave to stay at a monastery in the Himalayas.[3]
Batman: Bad Blood
Still living the Himalayas, Damain discovers that Batman has gone missing and returns to Gotham where he discovers Dick has assumed the identity to prevent people from learning about Bruce's apparent death. Joined by Batwoman they start investigating Heretic in hopes of finding Batman, and later Heretic kidnaps Damian. He takes him to his leader who turns out to be Talia, with Heretic in fact being a clone of Damian who she then kills for disobeying her orders. She also has Bruce prisoner and is attempting to brainwash him, but the timely arrival of Nightwing, Batwoman and new hero Batwing allows them to escape.
Not long after however the team discovers that Batman was indeed brainwashed by Talia as a plot to brainwash world leaders. Together the Bat-Family is able to free Bruce from Talia's control and foil her plan, though Talia herself is seemingly killed much to Damian's sadness. Sometime later the Bat-Family go on patrol together and attempt to stop a bank robbery being commited by the Penguin.[4] After this Batgirl joins the team.[5]
Joining the Teen Titans
Justice League vs Teen Titans
Robin and the Titans
Tired of being placed in "worthless" positions during fights with supervillains, Damian defied Batman's orders and took matters into his own hands when a mysterious being possessed Weather Wizard. As punishment, Batman sent Damian off to live with the Teen Titans in hoping that his son would start to learn the value of teamwork.
