Dana Drye was known as the "world's greatest detective", solving over 1,000 murder cases over the course of more than sixty years.
History
He deduced Batman's secret identity in January, 1940. After learning in 1943 that he was dying of an "incurable malady", Drye staged his own suicide — made to look like a murder — in front of a group of great detectives including Batman and Robin. The detectives tried to solve Drye's "murder", to no avail. Batman found Drye's diary, which detailed his discovery of Batman's identity and suicide plan. The diary of Dana Drye was added to Batman's Hall of Trophies.[1]
