Dane of Elysium is the Wonder Man, also known as Wonderous Man, a champion of the male Amazons of Elysium and a former member of the Earth 11's Justice Guild.[1][2]
History
New 52
Along with Justice Guild teammates Aquawoman, Batwoman and Superwoman, Wonderous Man was brought to the House of Heroes to aid in the battle against The Gentry.[3]
Wonderous Man was once mentor to Donald Troy, the Wonderous Boy.[4]
Infinite Frontier
Following the reboot of the Multiverse, Wonder Man is the champion of the male Amazons of the Elysium Island.
Formerly a member of the Justice Guild, Dane of Elysium was stripped of his post and exiled, being held prisoner for years in a cell inside the Hall of Justice accused of attempted genocide for trying to overthrow the Earth 11 matriarchy, fighting neglect, marginalization and abuse suffered by men, in his words, by the corruption of women.
With the help of the future aspect of the Roman god Janus, who ended up on Earth 11 pursued by Earth 0 Wonder Woman, Dane managed to break free from prison and face his former Guild mates, as well as Wonder Woman herself and her friends, Siegfried and Ratatosk. However, as Diana needed to go after Janus, who opened a new dimensional portal taking Deadman captive, she left the Justice Guild behind facing the wrath of the Wonder Man.[2]

Notes
- Wonder Man was created by Grant Morrison and Jimmy Palmiotti, first appearing in Countdown Presents: The Search for Ray Palmer: Superwoman/Batwoman #1. However, in the Earth 11 continuity, Wonder Man first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in The Multiversity Guidebook #1 by Grant Morrison and Emanuela Lupacchino.
Trivia
- The gender-swapped Earth 11 version of Wonder Woman was introduced in The Multiversity Guidebook #1 as a well-groomed, lean man named Wonderous Man. After Infinite Frontier, the version used resembles the pre-Flashpoint, Earth-11 Wonder Man (Dane of Elysium), more, even sharing his name. As part of the backstory for Earth 11, the Amazons of old were said to have led the world into prosperity, leading to a more prominent position of women on this universe. As part of these ancient Amazons, a Wonder Woman also existed.[5] How Dane and the Amazons of Elysium tie into this backstory is unclear.
