Danette Reilly was the heroine Firebrand, a member of the All-Star Squadron.
History
Origin
While conducting research in Hawaii, "volcanologist" Danette Reilly encountered time-traveling felon Per Degaton. The encounter left her with the ability to control and create fire with her hands.
All-Star Squadron
She returned to New York just after the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941, during which her brother Rod was injured. Learning that Rod was the original Firebrand, she modified one of his costumes and became the new Firebrand, joining the All-Star Squadron. Danette became a leading member and mentored younger heroes when they joined the team. She fell in love with the Shining Knight. They married, and she became the adoptive mother of Terri Rothstein, future mother of the Atom-Smasher.
Crisis on Infinite Earths
Firebrand was one of the chosen heroes to help Harbinger on her mission during a deadly crisis.
Death
After her husband was displaced in time after a battle between the Seven Soldiers of Victory and Nebula Man, Firebrand tried to stop a plot by the Dragon King. He defeated and killed her.[1]

Notes
- Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-Two era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and no longer apply.
- Firebrand was created as a member of the All-Star Squadron to fill the place of Wildfire, that DC decided not to include.
