Synopsis for "Appointment in Paris!"

Treasury agent Vern Hastings is late for his train at the Cherbourg station in France. A beautiful woman and two crooks are waiting for Hastings on the train. The girl runs into his arms after he jumps on the train and begs for a kiss. Unfortunately for Hastings, the girl also jams a gun into his back and declares she is part of Operation C. She comes up with a plan to stop the criminals; she will shoot in the air twice and Hastings will play dead. Frankie and his partner come in to investigate the shooting, but Hastings jumps up and surprises them. He shoots at the gunmen but is out of ammo. As he and the woman flee the train, Vern is shot in the shoulder. The pair jump out of the train and roll down an embankment but are followed by the criminals. The woman reveals herself to be Sally Greer, a correspondent for the Paris Sun. She had previously infiltrated a counterfeiting operation led by Jack Devlin. Despite recording evidence from the gang's conversation, she has been set up to take the fall for a killing for which the gang was responsible. Hastings was sent to France to team up with Sally on Operation C, but she had been intercepted by two hoods from Devlin's gang. Back in the present, the gang members try to scare the pair out of hiding but only manage to explode an old Nazi landmine from WWII, killing themselves. Taking shelter from an oncoming storm in a windmill, the couple are surprised by an aged farmer. The farmer helps them get to the nearby city of Caen where the pair take the train to Paris. Sally returns to the bridge where she left her recording device, while Vern hangs back with the French police. When Devlin and his gang attack, the police get in a shootout. Vern, however, blacks out. He awakens in a hospital with Sally at his side. She explains that Devlin was wounded in the shootout and confessed. Her recording device was useless all along, but the gang fell right into her trap. In the end, Hastings gets the girl and the case is solved.

Synopsis for "3 Steps to Mr. Sandino!"

Walking at night in Cuernavaca, Mexico, Cliff Hoyt foils a pickpocket's attempts to steal his wallet. Applauding his success, a man named Mr. Sandino hires Hoyt to collect three pieces of a statue from three different people who will be expecting him at three various locations. The next day, Hoyt hires a young pilot, Ramon Valdes, to take him to his first destination: an opal mine near Xochitaxl. At the mine, Hoyt meets with the owner, Mr. Jeffries. He hands over the second piece of the statue and reveals it is made of solid gold but has another hidden secret. Ramon arrives, announcing that the plane is on fire. While the plane is destroyed, Ramon and Hoyt are fired at from the bushes. Returning fire, Hoyt shoots and kills their assailant, quickly revealed to be Mr. Jeffries, who sought to collect the statue for himself. The pair flee the scene, steal a dump truck, and head out for Acapulco. On the way, they are passed by a mysterious car, the only car they see on the ride to the city. Reaching their destination, a gambling yacht called the Carmencita, Hoyt enters the captain's cabin alone. He meets Marvin Murdock, who tries to convince Hoyt to pair up with him. He reveals that the statue is Ozteco, the Inca god, and is worth $100,000. Suddenly, Murdock is shot by Mr. Sandino who hands over Hoyt's promised $1000. Sandino reveals that he was the one who really killed Mr. Jeffries and planned to set up Hoyt for the murders. Sandino fires at Hoyt but instead hits an Inca who had arrived to take the idol. Sandino attempts to escape in the dump truck, but Ramon removes the keys. In the end, Sandino jumps onto the beach, which is revealed to be quicksand, and he sinks to his death.

Synopsis for "Mystery of the Highland Queen!"

Riding the ferry to Edinburgh, a professional diver named Link Moran sees a woman at the wheel of a Jaguar drive into the ocean. He dives in and rescues her. Unable to find the two men he believes responsible, he asks the woman for her story. She reveals herself to be heir to $200,000 worth of jewels and 500 acres of property; she also reveals her name to be Madeleine Booth. Madeleine's lawyer, Jay Gladding, sent her to Edinburgh to pay $100,000 worth of debt with the jewels that were hidden in the trunk of her car to protect them from thieves. In the city of Dunfermline, crooks stole her car and later kidnapped her, put her on the ferry to Edinburgh, and pushed her and the car overboard. In Edinburgh, the pair meet up with Gladding and, despite the fact that Moran and Gladding do not like one another, let him in on their plan. The next day, with Madeleine controlling the air-pump, Moran dives into the firth to look for the car to check the trunk, ignoring a note pasted to his helmet that he will die. He finds the jewels but is attacked by two divers who leave him for dead. Reviving himself, he is rescued by the crew of the ferry. Moran travels to Madeleine's home in St. Andrews and overhears Erskine, the butler, talking to Gladding about making the heiress disappear. He incapacitates Erskine and gets the location of where they plan to kill Madeleine. Moran brings the police to the spot and sees Gladding and his men in a parked car. He rushes over, jumps on the running board, and the car drives off, soon ramming into a truck. After awakening, Moran is greeted by Madeleine, who reveals that Gladding confessed and Erskine was arrested. The couple celebrate by taking a ride on the ferry.
