Danny the Dummy was a ventriloquist enemy of Batman.

History

Daniel Mattews was a midget also known as Danny the Dummy for his ventriloquist performance in which he posed as the dummy controlled by Matt, just to reveal that he was the ventriloquist all along. However, his fame cost him a normal life as he couldn't go out on the city without people calling him "dummy". Annoyed with society, Matthews decided to turn into crime and started a criminal spree, forcing people to act strangely, making them look like literal, dummies.

His criminal career was short as he was eventually confronted by Batman and Robin, who captured Matthews' gang before taking the midget to justice.

• This version of Danny the Dummy, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023.
