Dante is the leader of the Ninth Circle, a secret organization created for the sole purpose of storing dirty money coming from robberies, frauds and illicit operations, and of financing just as many criminal activities for the right profit.
History
Dante disfigured himself to conceal any trace of his former identity, built his bank using names and concepts from the Divine Comedy and forbid anyone from ever using his or her real name in it, built an empire with criminal funds and hired a number of assassins and enforcers to make sure that nobody would have ever dared to betray the Ninth Circle. Whoever refused to pay was swiftly killed, usually by The Burned, a group of mind-wiped foot soldiers coerced into service, while for highest targets the usual choice was Shado, the Ninth Circle's top assassin, who answered directly to Dante.
