Quote1 Lucy Lee, this is Linda Lane. Quote2
Mr. Danvers src

Mr. Danvers was the neurotic principal of Midvale Prep.

Mr. Danvers was the headmaster of a girls' school known as Midvale Preparatory School. Like many school administrators, he was under constant pressure both from frustrated teachers and disobedient students, along with constant phone calls from parents and legal guardians. When Supergirl arrived on Earth, she briefly enrolled at Midvale. Kara enters the office of Mr. Danvers, where she is reprimanded by the headmaster for not knocking beforehand. Kara immediately exits the office to the man's surprise, then immediately knocks on the door. Mr. Danvers then asks whoever did that to enter, then is somewhat more receptive to Kara, presumably that she corrected her inconsiderate action. Kara falsely identifies herself as Linda when introducing herself to the headmaster. Mr. Danvers then asked if she had a second name. Supergirl glances around Mr. Danvers' office and sees a portrait of General Robert E. Lee, then takes his surname, identifying herself in full as "Linda Lee". Mr. Danvers remarks that applicants are required to have a letter of recommendation. Their conversation is interrupted by Nigel, a teacher at Midvale (ironically he himself barged into the office) and Mr. Danvers tells "Linda Lee" to wait while he speaks with one of the teachers in private. Mr. Danvers excused himself, and Kara used his typewriter at superspeed to type up a letter of recommendation from Clark Kent, which Mr. Danvers conventiently finds on his desk upon return. Mr. Danvers then escorted Linda to the dormitory, where several girls in bras and sport briefs then shriek and flee at seeing their headmaster present. He then introduced Linda to Lucy Lane (although reversing the names), and said they will be roommates.

Abilities

  • Mr. Danvers was portrayed by David Healy.
  • Danvers' first name was never revealed in the movie. Everyone, including himself, only refers to him by his last name.
  • The name may have been taken from the comics, where Supergirl is adopted by an Earth couple named Mr. & Mrs. Danvers, and she adopts their surname. In the film, she claims to be an orphan as well, only for this Mr. Danvers to say she will get no special treatment, though he expresses some sympathy for her purported scenario.
