The Dark Knight is an evil clone of Alfred Pennyworth created by Briar that came into opposition of Batman.

History

When Alfred Pennyworth was younger and living in England, he joined a secret program organized by Briar to become a vigilante called "the Dark Knight". Though Alfred completed some of the training, Briar seemingly went insane, and Alfred was forced to kill him. However, Briar survived and used a sample of blood he had stolen from Alfred to create a clone of him, of which he would then train to become the Dark Knight in his place.

In the present, the Dark Knight resurfaced and challenged Batman.
