Darkside was a war criminal of postwar Czechoslovakia who wielded a mystical orb capable of raising the dead.
History
Darkside escaped the tribunals after the war and started getting into the occult and the spaced between life and death. Empowered by a mystical orb that allowed her to raise an army of undead, she returned as a dark agent of the Meridian, Nightwing's European opposite number. For that matter, Manhunter pursued her to get revenge on the criminals who brutalized her and her people. Manhunter's chased led her to accidentally kill Darkside's twin sister. However, the dead sister returned to life when Darkside rose her undead army. Empowered by mystic energies, the resurrected sister helped Manhunter kill Darkside, then harnessed the energies into a lantern.[1]
