Darkstars (Volume 1) with a cover date of December, 1993.
Synopsis for "The Unkindest Cut of All!"
Ferrin Colos falls into the Syndicate's trap, locked in a room with the mutated John Flint. Brainwashed by the Annihilator program, Flint attempts to kill the Darkstar.
Meanwhile, Carla and Mo continue investigating the robbery and homicide at a high-tech facility, which seems to point at Kindar Bleeg as the culprit, the alien hitman under witness protection. They learn of another facility stricken in the same manner, this time a S.T.A.R. Labs building in Houston. The item stolen is an interplanetary folded-space drive, and the thief left a victim, whose corpse also misses body parts.
On the mining world of Ovendrar, a squad of Darkstars comes barging into a bar looking for a female fugitive, but the runaway escapes by stealing the Darkstars' spaceship.
Back in the Syndicate's facility, Colos tries everything to defeat John. Unable to withstand Flint's strength, Colos relies on his memories and tries to reason with him, making John remember that he is a cop. The brute now jumps at the Syndicate and breaks loose. When Darkstar catches up to him, a group of guards ambushes them, incapacitating Colos and the raging brute.
