- Like it or not, deputy, Ferrin Colos is history! The only Darkstar you need to worry about for now is yours truly.
Darkstars #24 is an issue of the series Darkstars (Volume 1) with a cover date of September, 1994.
Synopsis for "A Time For Every Purpose"
Taking the place of Ferrin Colos, Donna Troy leads her deputies to investigate an entity wreaking havoc on the planet Alaxos. While approaching Alaxos, the Darkstars encounter the being called Entropy. During the fight, two men come out of different portals: Vardan Radz, the Darkstar who recruited Ferrin Colos and retired years ago, and Abin Sur, the Green Lantern who passed on his ring to Hal Jordan before dying. The Darkstars assume that there's a disruption in space/time that brought the two men to the future. Leaving the explanations for later, they join forces to attend to the present matter and deal with Entropy. The combined energies of the Darkstar and the Green Lantern cause a black hole that takes Radz, Abin Sur, and Entropy back to their respective times.
Suddenly, a projection of Superman appears in front of the Darkstars and tells them that the universe is dying. After Superman fades away, the Darkstars return to Earth immediately.
Meanwhile, Darkstars Munchukk and Threllian take Ferrin Colos to his homeworld, Zamba. Upon arrival, they meet the man called John Stewart, former Green Lantern, now wearing a Darkstar uniform. John explains how Huvah Jeddigar has betrayed the Darkstars, manipulating Colos and Merayn Dethalis to his ends. Learning that Jeddigar was also involved in Jenuwyne's destruction, Ferrin is now determined to strike Jeddigar back. But first, he needs to pay his respects to someone on his home planet.
