Dawnstar is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes.
History
Dawnstar Gr'ell's world, Starhaven, has a deep connection to the Earth's 13th Century. Her name actually derived from the appearance on Earth of the planet Venus, the "Morning Star", and she wears an eight-pointed star in tribute to it.[1]
The winged warrior was approached by Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy on Starhaven to join the Legion because she became known in the galactic after take on the Red Horraz. At first she refused because the Legion would fight alongside the United Planets, and she would prefer them to fight against it, but she was convinced after they claimed that the Legion would have complete autonomy.[2]

- Dawnstar was created by Mike Grell and Paul Levitz, first appearing in Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #226. However, in the Post-Rebirth Legion of Super-Heroes continuity Dawnstar first appeared in Superman (Volume 5) #14 by Brian Michael Bendis and Ivan Reis.
